Have a Casino Night for Your Next Company Party

A casino night event is a great way to entertain your employees at your next annual holiday party or appreciation event.  Your employees will have a great time interacting and getting to know one another which creates better working relationships.

To get started, select a venue that will accommodate the size of your company.  Decide whether to serve a sit down dinner, a light buffet dinner or finger foods.  Be sure and think about beverages (the venue can usually provide a bar – you decide whether to have an open bar or host it).   About two-thirds of your guests will want to play games, you might also want to consider hiring a DJ and make room for a dance floor.

The Casino Event company will take care of set up, all equipment and supplies and tear down.  So once you have made your pre-arrangements for food and drink, you will be able to be a guest at your own event!

Blackjack

Some players call the game blackjack and some call it twenty-one. No matter what you call it, the object of the game is to beat the dealer!

Blackjack is played with one, two, four, six or eight decks of cards. In single and double deck games the dealer holds the cards and deals them out. In multi-deck games the cards are dealt out of a shoe.  The basic play for either game is the same.

As stated above, the objective of the game is to beat the dealer. If your cards total higher than the dealer’s cards without going over 21 you win. You are not trying to get close to 21, you are just trying to get a better hand than the dealer. If your hand goes over 21 you “bust.” The player acts first, so if you bust you lose whether the dealer goes on to bust or not.

Plan Your First Casino Party

Planning a party of any type can be a lot of work but also a lot of fun.  Start your planning with the invitation and set the tone for a great event. If you have decided to use a theme, make sure the invitations and any other print material reflects your theme.  If you are planning a casino night, you can use oversized playing cards for the invites or just use a design with clubs, hearts, etc.  Decorations should follow your casino party theme and be simple to set up and take down.  A simple table ceterpiece could be playing cards attached to sticks in a vase to create a “bouquet” and cards and dice placed around the table.  Use black and red linens and tableware.  Once you book your venue and caterer, they will do most of the work – all you have to do is make decisions on food selection and seating arrangements.  One of the most important elements for your event is a great DJ who can make your casino event a night to remember.  Be sure to leave a little room for a dance floor.  Whether planning a company party, birthday party, reunion or any other type of event – with a casino night party you can be a guest at your own event!

Texas Hold ‘Em is the main type Poker played in most casinos and used in most professional tournaments.

These are the primary rules in Texas Hold ‘Em Poker.

The dealer shuffles a standard 52-card deck
In casinos, the dealer never plays. A round disc known as a “dealer button” moves clockwise from player to player with each hand. The button marks which player would be the dealer if the deal were advanced from player to player as the game went along.

Most Texas Hold ’em Poker games start with the two players to the left of the dealer (the button) placing a predetermined bet or some of money into the pot prior to any cards being dealt. This ensues that there is something to play for on each hand. This process is called “posting the blinds.” Usually in the “first blind” the player to the left of the dealer puts up half the minimum bet, and the “second blind” puts up the full minimum bet.

Each player is dealt two cards, face down. These two cards are known as the “hole cards.”
